Dream event stuff!

Dream #1: Montage of Riku's conflict with Sora during the KH1 time period. (Reoccurring)
Partipants: OU Riku, OU Sora, TBD
Dreamscapes: Traverse Town -> Halloween Town (Curly Hill) -> Neverland -> Hollow Bastion
Themes: Friendship, Deception, Fear, Loss, Tension

Description: The dream will begin in Traverse Town's second district, where Sora and Riku discuss everything that's happened to him since the islands disappeared. Sora will bring up Maleficent, and the dreamscape will immediately shift to the curly hill in Halloween Town. There, Riku and Sora will bicker over Sora's decision to steal Finkelstein's artificial heart for Kairi's sake. Sora will stubbornly flee, and the dreamscape will shift once again.

Sora will greet Riku on Captain Hook's ship and take him into the cabin to show him Kairi. A tense conversation follows surrounding Kairi and Sora's loyalty to Maleficent. Before long, Riku calls Sora out for being a villain's lackey and swears to take Maleficent out. Furious, Sora casts Sleep on Riku, and the dreamscape shifts to the Entrance Hall in Hollow Bastion.

Riku's Keyblade is gone, but Donald, Goofy, and Beast remain at his side. Together they confront Sora, who tells Riku to leave; he doesn't want to fight. Riku stubbornly refuses, pointing out that Sora doesn't know what's really at risk. Sora, however, refuses to accept this, holding firm to Maleficent's lie that the Keyblade is what brings the Heartless to worlds. When the others argue against this, Sora clings to his belief that Maleficent is a good person, and Riku decides to fight him, if that's what it takes to knock some sense into him. At that moment, the Keyblade flares into Riku's grip, and a fight ensues.

As the fight ends and Riku tries to speak with Sora, Heartless attack, and Sora flees. The dreamscape shifts again at this point to the inside of the Castle Chapel where Riku's group faces Maleficent. Despite her frail state, she refuses to let the group interfere, claiming that when 'that foolish boy' completes the Keyhole, the world shall plummet into darkness. Riku's group stands firm, refusing to back down. Maleficent then succumbs to her inner darkness, transforming into a terrifying dragon and rears back her head to shoot flames.

At that moment, Sora rushes straight at her and knocks Riku out of the way. At long last, he's realized the truth and aids Riku and his friends in defeating that witch once and for all.

When the fight ends, Sora apologizes, and Riku accepts, knowing that Sora only did what he thought was right. Sora then urges the group to hurry to the Keyhole so they can seal it once and for all.

The dreamscape shifts to the Grand Hall. Sora and Riku stand alone by Kairi's lifeless body. When Riku asks what's going on, Sora explains the truth about Kairi-- that her heart was inside him all along, the real reason why Maleficent 'helped' him. Kairi is one of the Princesses of Heart, and Sora points out that he'll have to release her heart.

Riku refuses at first, and the two argue over what to do. Eventually, Riku comes to accept that there's no other way and admits that he's always been jealous of Sora. Of course, Sora points out that he was just as jealous. Then, and Riku challenges Sora to one last spar for old time's sake.

They spar with wooden swords and Riku ends up throwing the match so Sora can go out on a high note. After the fight, Sora pulls Riku into a tight hug. When they finally step back, Sora asks Riku to take care of Kairi and to apologize on behalf of his actions. Then, he brings the Dark Keyblade to his chest and releases Kairi's heart. The dream then fades to black...

Note: I'm open to characters only appearing in segments of this an the other long dreams and exploring one particular memory if you so wish. OU Riku and AU Riku are sticking to Hollow Bastion, for example.

Dream #2: Replica issues (Reoccurring)
Participants: TBD
Dreamscapes: Hollow Bastion -> Agrabah -> Monstro -> Destiny Islands
Themes: Uncertainty, Resentment, Fear, Misunderstandings

Description:

The first portion of the dream takes place in the wreckage of the Bailey, where Riku and friends confront Riku Replica and Sora's Nobody. The Replica verbally attacks Riku, calling him a Fake and accusing him of stealing his life. Donald calls the Replica out for being crazy and Goofy makes the blatant remark that the Replica thinks he really is Riku. This disappoints the Replica, who goes on to accuse Kairi of being Riku's accomplice. Soon, a fight ensues, with Donald and Goofy blocked off by a barrier while Riku and Kairi face the Replica and Sora's Nobody together.

After the fight, the Replica taunts Riku a little, and both he and Sora's Nobody leave. The dreamscape shifts to the desert outside Agrabah. Riku and the Replica battle Kurt Zisa alongside Kairi, Donald, Goofy, Aladdin, and Sora's Nobody. The whole time, the Replica keeps trying to 1-up Riku and only begrudgingly cooperates. As the fight ends and Riku finishes off the Heartless, the Replica becomes increasingly angry. Once Donald and Goofy start talking over the Replica, he snaps and releases Jafar from his lamp. The dreamscape shifts...

Inside Monstro, the Replica appears again with Pinocchio at his side. He yells at Riku for trying to steal his only remaining friend (Pinocchio) and assures him that he'll be the one to rescue the puppet and his father.

He inches towards a dark corridor and prepares to take off, only to end up trapped within the Parasite Cage. At that moment, his anger and resentment fade, replaced with an undeniable fear. He struggles to escape to no avail. Riku watches for a few short moments, ordering Donald and Goofy to get Pinocchio to safety. Then, he rushes in and battles the Heartless alongside Kairi. Together, they defeat the Heartless and free the Replica, who gives Riku a wide-eyed stare before retreating through a corridor.

The final dreamscape takes on the form of Destiny Islands at sunset. The Replica stands at the shoreline gazing out into the sunset. At this point, Riku and any participants cease being observers of mere memories.

The first time around, Riku will treat his Replica with a touch of bittrness and frustration, something the Replica mirrors tenfold. However, with each repetition of the dream, he'll flater a little. Eventually, Riku will cease facing his copy with resentment. Instead, he'll calmly state the following:

"I still don't understand you, but... you deserve to exist just as much as I do."

At that point, the Replica's eyes widen, and he stumbles back into the water. The Keyblade vanishes from his grip, and he rolls both of his hands into fists. The ground shakes, the sky blackens. Riku falls through the sand, and the dream comes to an abrupt end.

Dream #3: Inner darkness (Partially reocurring-- final dream)
Participants: TBD
Dreamscape: Dive into the Heart -> Destroyed Destiny Islands -> Pleasure Island -> Twilight Town -> Realm of Darkness
Themes: Fear, Uncertainty, Loneliness, Darkness, Loss, Regret, Friendship, Hope

Description: Riku falls into one of the Stations, landing on a stained glass platform with his image obscured by dark tendrils. On the opposite side of the platform he faces what appears to be himself with golden eyes and the Dark Armor.

"Even after all this time, your light continues to shine..."

The tone, the inflections. They're not Riku's at all, but Ansem's. He chuckles, folds his arms and circles around Riku, taunting him over his refusal to accept his own darkness. He brings up the fact that Riku's world has been destroyed. His companions, his best friend, the girl he loves-- all extinguished. He has failed. He's the only piece of his universe left.

And he's all alone.

Riku tries to remain strong. Calling for the Keyblade, he triggers a fight. Ansem responds by summoning the Dark Keyblade. Eventually, he drives the Dark Keyblade straight into the stained glass, and it shatters. The two fall through blackness...

They end up on Destiny Islands as it was during the storm. Here, Ansem continues to taunt Riku over his failure to protect his home. He continues to use Riku's appearance, mocking the boy for his jealousy. Shortly after, the dreamscape shifts to Pleasure Island, as the Behemoth and Neoshadows erradicate the world. Again, Ansem taunts him for his failure to save the world and the way he dove headlong into danger all because of his inflated ego.

Riku will bring up how he's changed. That he's come a long way since the start of his journey. Ansem will counter this by showing Riku a brief glimpse of a memory from Twilight Town-- the moment he accidentally launched dark firaga at Seifer during a spar. Proof that darkness still resides in him. Then, the setting changes to the Realm of Darkness, where another memory replays-- the moment Riku refused to close the door and pulled his friends through a dark corridor in order to save them.

ENDING A: These first few memories may repeat a few times, like the Replica sequences. However, depending on who appears and the interactions that occur throughout the event, he may very well end up resisting his dark impulses. At that point, he'll bring up that, yes, he still has lingering darkness, but so does just about everyone. Just because it's there doesn't mean he'll give in.

At this point, Ansem will assume his true form and attack. Though he'll start out with the upper hand, eventually Riku will triumph. The door to Kingdom Hearts will bathe light on Ansem and burn him to a crisp, just like before.

The blackness surrounding Riku will fade into white. Images of his friends will flash before him. Donald, Goofy, Leon, Cid, Aerith, Yuffie, Kairi...

And Sora.

They'll face him with smiles, each of them offering words of encourgement. Once everyone's gotten a word with Riku, Sora will step out ahead of the group, placing a hand on his chest.

"Remember, Riku, we believe in you. No amount of darkness will ever change that. Even if that crummy letter *is* true, we're still here-- in your heart, so try not to worry, okay?"

As his friends fade from sight, the light gives way to Destiny Islands, untouched by the storm. It is here that the dream will end.

ENDING B:

If things take a turn for the worst, Ansem will still attack, but Riku's attempts at fighting back will be feeble at best. The darkness will begin devouring him. Pulling him deeper and deeper while Ansem looms over him with a sickening grin. He'll sink through the darkness while faint echoes of his friends' voices surround him, uttering words he just can't discern.

This will bring him back to Dream 1, and the sequence of dreams will start all over again.

Additionally, I wouldn't mind exploring some of these settings outside of woeful memories...

• Traverse Town
• Twilight Town
• Atlantica (Finny fun~)
• Destiny Islands (day or sunset)

And other misc worlds. I'm always open for more brainstorming, really.
